Garden Project

September 24, 2019

Written by surge

This Year at Beech Grove Residential Home, the residents and staff have come together to develop their own Vegetable and Flower Patch! Residents were involved in deciding what they wanted growing in the garden and how they wanted the new garden laid out.

Broccoli, Radishes, Strawberries, Potatoes, Peas, Carrots, Onions and Tomatoes  are all being grown, ready for our kitchen staff to introduce homegrown fresh vegetables & fruit into the current menu.

We have ensured that our Greenhouse, potting stations and Vegetable patch are all accessible to all our residents, including those who are wheelchair users. We wanted everyone to feel comfortable and involved in the making of the new garden.

A massive thank you to all the residents and staff who have supported the development of the garden and thank you to those who have had an input in the garden, as without your help, this could not have happened!
