The staff show great empathy towards my mother. The hygiene is excellent, the food is excellent and staff are wonderful. It is so heartwarming to find such people. Its like one family working with one aim to make the clients as happy and comfortable as possible. I drop in always unannounced and everything is always spot on. The atmosphere is always welcoming. My mother is difficult to deal with but the staff calm her down and are very clever at helping her always with care and compassion.

We enjoy an array of varying species of birds and our residents love to watch these and soak up the relaxed atmosphere of the setting. Meet the Manager
Hilary Miller
My name is Hilary Miller, I am the Registered Manager of Cedar Grange in Cherry Burton. In 1993 I started my career in Adult Social Care, I initially worked for North Yorkshire County Council, I worked my way up through various positions and became the operational manager of a 37 bedded home in 2001, registered with the Care Quality Commission.
Read moreMother was admitted to the care home by a recommendation of social services. She had been diagnosed as suffering from severe dementia. The care staff were very welcoming and supportive. They have the patience to deal with the varying demands of behaviour and mood swings. The care home has been converted from a vicarage to a very sympathetic set of private and common rooms.
Stuart B, Resident’s Son
My mum has struggled at first to settle and I know she can't have been the easiest person to deal with, but the staff were all so patient with her and she has finally settled in.
She is in the annex which is perfect as she is not ready for complete care.
The only thing she complains about is the lack of activities but she is aware she can join in, in the main house, so this is her own choice.
It is always difficult putting a parent in a home but the staff and management have all been wonderful.
L B, Resident’s Daughter
I've only been here five days but from the day I entered Cedar Grange, it has been HOME. Everything is A1. Staff can't do enough and are so pleasant, it's a joy to be with them. I'm so looked after and I'm thankful I came to join them. Thank you, everyone.
Maureen H, Resident
