We believe that quality of life should be maximised and are wholly committed to the principles of holistic palliative care at the end of life.
We always have registered nurses on duty in order to address the balance of meeting clinical needs while providing a high quality of home life.

Open visiting at any time for friends and family, other visitors are welcome mid morning and mid afternoon or by appointment.
Facilities and Services
Our forty two single bedrooms have a call bell facility, TV access points and meet individual requirements in relation to fittings and furnishings. We supply specialised nursing equipment following needs assessments.
Laundry and domestic services are provided on site and this service is included in our fees.
Additional services include frequent hairdressing visits, regular visits from GPs, chiropodists, dentists, opticians and district nurses.

The staff at Lowgate are all absolutely excellent. They do a lot of trouble to ensure all residents are happy as well as safe. Activities are organised and enjoyed.
Food is varied and good. The rooms are very clean, freshly decorated and well equipped.
The manager is fully on top of everything and many extra touches have been introduced to help everyone feel at home.
Visitors are encouraged and treated brilliantly.
I could not wish for a better place for my dear mum to be looked after and cared for.

This is a truly excellent home. The staff are so helpful, loving and caring, it really is a care home with a capital C.
All staff work as a team regardless of their station (domestic, carer, senior carer, nurse) and even the manager, herself a qualified nurse, joins in to assist residents.
My wife had dementia (Alzheimer's) and was admitted to the home in January 2014.
In the last 6 months she was confined to bed, but the carers and nurses were brilliant with her, making sure she was clean and well nourished.
She died in their care in January 2017.
