Party on the Lawn, Long Meadow

July 7, 2017

Long Meadow held its summer party, this year in recognition of the Darley Dale Primary School “Dig Project”. Despite an initially overcast looking day, the rain thankfully held off!
Festivities took place on the lawns to the rear of the home. The catering team had put hard work and preparation into ensuring no visitors would leave without a bellyful of assorted sandwiches, cakes and extra delicious homemade scones.
We were delighted to welcome the Baroness Estelle Morris as well as local Councillors Steve Flitter, Andrew Statham, Julie Pattern and Lynn Chiltern – Chairperson of Derbyshire County Council.
And of course we also welcomed the children themselves from Darley Dale Primary, alongside mums and dads, who were set to receive certificates for their participation in the dig project.
After food and drinks, outdoors entertainment was provided by guitarist Tom Pilkington and singer Cally Jupe.
Melanie Auckland Director of Operations said “It was a great pleasure to attend the Garden Party at Long Meadow. The weather was kind to us and to see the residents, their relatives and our guests enjoying the beautiful gardens at the home was fantastic. We were spoilt with fancy home-made cakes served by the Catering team. I am very proud of Mark and his team – great day, thank you”.
