General Information
The home consists of six houses and accommodates up to twenty residents in each building. We have a varied resident group and this is reflected in the care we offer. We cater for people requiring the following care categories:
- Young people with Physical Disabilities (YPD)
- Functional Mental Health
- Nursing (Dementia)
- Nursing (General)
- Residential (Dementia)
- Residential (General)
The home also provides respite care. Each house has two floors. Both floors have a kitchenette
(which can be accessed by visitors), two small dining rooms and two small lounges. All houses have a garden area which is secure for residents to sit out. There are no restrictions on visiting times.
Facilities and Services
Haythorne Place is a large, privately owned, multi-category care facility that provides a supportive and friendly atmosphere to its varied residents. Care is delivered across 6 near identical houses, each equipped with ample dining & lounge facilities.
The 6 houses are located around one central building which holds many of the home’s utilities.
The kitchen & laundry are located here as well as the reception and our manager’s office.
The home has its own minibus which (weather-permitting) is used as often as possible to take residents to attractions & locations in and around the Sheffield area. A wide range of professional visitors provide services at the home. We’re able to make arrangements
or appointments for the following professionals to visit you:
- Physiotherapists
- GP
- Dentists
- Opticians
- Dietitians (at GP’s request)
In addition the home receives regular visits from a hairdresser and chiropodists.

My dad was admitted as a permanent resident on end of life care in August '18, he passed away 8/10/18. The care he had for the last 2 months of his life was exceptional, he wasn’t the easiest of residents but he was handled with care and dignity right up until the very end. The staff here at Haythorne Place are brilliant. I cannot thank them enough for the kindness and care they give to my cousin. They treat her like she is a member of their own family and it is such a comfort to know she is well cared for. Her key worker is wonderful and is so kind. It is fantastic place. It is difficult to have a family member in a nursing home, but if it has to be, then I would recommend Haythorne Place 100%. It is full of laughter, and the staff treat the residents with respect and kindness.
