The town of Houghton-le-Spring is a small, pleasant town with a range of local amenities.

We are close to the Herrington Country park which is a large, scenic area used by the community for various events. The home has easy access to the town centre where you can find shops, theatres and restaurants, churches, GP Surgeries and a General Hospital. Durham City centre is a 20 minute drive away (10 miles approx) and it’s also a 10 minute drive (5 miles approx) to Chester-le-Street riverside.

How to Find Us / Local Transport:

We are in the village of Low Moor, just half a mile from the town centre.  There is a regular local bus service to and from the village which stops just outside the gates to the home.

The home is a 15 minute drive (8 miles approx) from Sunderland City Centre and the same distance from the Galleries shopping centre. Durham City Centre is 20 minutes (10 miles approx) from the home and there you can find an intercity train service.

Local bus services allow easy access from the town of Houghton-le-Spring to Sunderland, Durham, Chester-le-Street and various other locations in the surrounding area.
