Care Home Heroes Go the Extra Mile – Literally!

Valley View’s Sponsored Walk to Beamish and South Bebside’s Bike Ride Raise Spirits and Funds
Valley View Care Home Walked to Beamish!
Residents, staff, and supporters of Valley View Care Home laced up their walking boots and hit the road for an incredible sponsored walk to Beamish Museum – a scenic trek of around 8 miles! The event was a resounding success, full of laughter, community spirit, and plenty of determination.
A huge THANK YOU goes out to everyone who supported the walk, whether by donating, cheering along the route, or joining in step by step. The team’s efforts were not only a testament to their energy and commitment but also a wonderful example of community coming together for a great cause. Well done to all involved!
Sponsored Bike Ride Success at South Bebside!
Meanwhile, down the road at South Bebside Care Home, one of our incredible team members, Ann, did a sponsored bike ride from the home all the way to The Tynemouth Castle Inn – and back again!
Clocking in at around 20 miles, Ann’s journey was both challenging and inspiring. Along the way, she enjoyed a well-earned coffee break with some familiar faces from the home who came to cheer her on at the halfway point.
Thanks to Ann’s dedication and pedal power, she raised over £200 for the residents’ fund — money that will go directly toward creating more special moments, activities, and joyful experiences for the people we care for.
These fantastic efforts from both homes are shining examples of how compassion, teamwork, and a touch of adventure can make a meaningful difference.
