Dolphin View’s Resident Artist

Read about Dolphin View’s resident artist…
Dick started painting when he was very little and stated he has painted all his life. He showed great talent during art classes at school and his head teacher wanted him to go to college to study art however Dicks working life took a different direction. Dick likes to paint mainly marine scenes and as he lives in Dolphin View Dick gets a lot of his art ideas from looking out of his bedroom as his bedroom faces onto the seafront at Amble and this inspires Dick to paint seascape views especially with the changing weather conditions on the North East coast. Dick uses his bedroom window views as themes and painted staff Christmas Cards last year. Dick offered to paint a picture for one of the other residents who will be celebrating their 100th Birthday in March this year. Dick has included some of the residents favourite memories from when she was younger as would visit the coast when she was younger and enjoyed picnics with her family. The resident also loved to see the horses riding on the beach and had a black labrador which Dick has also included on the painting. This painting will be presented to the resident on their 100th birthday celebration to enjoy with their family.
